I retired from Adams 12 Five Star Schools after 20+ years of teaching secondary students with special needs. I loved working with the students but grew very tired of the politics and the administration. As my retirement gift to myself, I got the joy of my life, Shadow; a purebred, pure black Pug. She constantly makes me laugh!

I have done some world traveling over the years. In 1986, just shortly after the lifting of the Cultural Revolution in China, I was able to travel throughout the People's Republic of China as a lecturing artist. We were the first artists to be allowed into China, and we went as guests of the Chinese Government. What an interesting time that was!

I just recently returned from 2 weeks in the interior of Alaska - joining the 30% club while I was there.. Only 30% of all visitors to Alaska are able to view Mt. McKinley due to the cloud cover that shrouds the mountain most of the time.

I also enjoy spending time researching my family history, both on my mother's side (back to 1723 in Kentucky, and the Revolutionary War) and on my father's side where I am back to the Holy Roman Empire in Germany. I have found a rich source of information through the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia. Before too many more years go by, I would love to visit the Volga Region of Russia, Germany, and Poland (previously Prussia) to walk where my ancestors once walked. In the mean time, I enjoy researching the various areas and the people, and learning more about who they were and what their lives were like.

Hobbies/Activities:
I enjoy doing genealogical research, and writing stories about family "characters" that I learn about from my research. I also enjoy reading and counted cross stitch.

Family:
No children of my own,but I have 12 Great-Nieces and Great-Nephews. I am also very proud of my three Nephews. The joy of my life is my one year old pure-bred, pure black Pug named Shadow.
Travel:
I've been fortunate to travel throughout The Peoples Republic of China, England, Europe, and many of our wonderful United States. My favorite place is Alaska. I have been there four times, and look for every chance and excuse to go back.
